In Albania, mainly at this current historic phase, young people are among the most vulnerable social categories. They have been affected by the pandemic in several economic, social, and educational aspects especially in their access to the job market.
The Agricultural University of Tirana, University ‘Aleksandër Moisiu’ Durrës, University ‘Ismail Qemali’ Vlorë, University ‘Fan S. Noli’ Korçë, intend to respond to this situation by putting in place measures to help young people to resolve this difficult state of affairs.
In the frame of the Erasmus Project TTO4FOOD, through the support of the CIHEAM Bari and the University of Bari, Aldo Moro, we are designing the Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) to strengthen the "Third Mission" of the educational institutions (Bologna process): "the set of activities that allow universities to interact directly with society and the economic system”. Specifically, dedicated services are being designed to create spin-offs and startups; to recognize and enhance patenting; to help develop intellectual protection abilities and regulations; to strengthen cooperation between university and research organizations and private companies.
The setting up of the TTOs is the pathway to qualifying Albanian Universities, to be in line with the European standards. They are the most concrete response to promote the resilience of the young generation and stop the ongoing dramatic “human and brain” exodus from our territory.
The goal of this Conference is to start a sharing process to establish the Technology Transfer Offices in Tirana, Durrës, Vlorë, and Korçë Universities.
