Project Summary

Short description

The project aims at improving the social and economic status of poor rural women of the poor communities in the Governorates of Fayoum, Sohag, Assiut and Aswan, by triggering and sustaining their capacity to produce and to sell food and non-food items, while taking care of their children and families.

Main Results

The project will improve the status of rural women, increasing their awareness of basic rights and self-confidence. The project will provide them with knowledge and technical tools, including financial support, to improve their social and economic status. Women will be supported, through technical assistance, micro-credit and internships in Italy, in the creation of new micro and small income generating activities or by improving those already existing in the sector of handcraft, agriculture and services.
