Boosting cross border Organic Ecosystem through enhancing agro-food alliances

Organic agriculture is a great solution to achieve food safety and security as well as environmental sustainability, but it is still quite underdeveloped and heterogeneous in Mediterranean countries. Main shared challenges are: inconsistent or lacking support policies from national/local governments, low innovation capacities, limited knowledge of sustainable farming practices and a weak value chain where MSMEs operate in a disaggregated way.

SUSTAINABLE WATER AND LAND MANAGEMENT IN AGRICULTURE

The Master Programme provides a one academic year curriculum the main objective of which is to direct students towards professional and academic careers thereby promoting a sustainable use of land and water in agriculture, in view of important challenges that include water/land scarcity, population growth, climate change and correlated environmental and socio-economic repercussions. A major focus will be on the application of modern tools and technologies that combine agronomic, engineering, environmental and socio-economic aspects of land and water management in agriculture.

 

INNOVATIVE APPROACHES FOR INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT OF MEDITERRANEAN FRUIT CROPS​

The Master Programme provides a one academic year curriculum whose main objective is to prepare motivated students towards professional and academic careers that will promote integrated pest and disease management strategies for a sustainable intensification of arboriculture in the Mediterranean agroecosystems.

 

MEDITERRANEAN ORGANIC AGRICULTURE

The Master programme provides a one academic year curriculum the main objective of which is to direct students towards professional and academic careers thereby promoting the development of organic agriculture, with an emphasis on Mediterranean contexts.

 
 

The CIHEAM Bari Master Programmes span over one academic year and award 60 credits. Their objective is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of land and water resources management, sustainable integrated pest management and organic agriculture.

The CIHEAM Bari Master of Science Programmes last two academic years and award 120 credits. Their objective is to further the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the first year in the fields of land and water resources management, sustainable integrated pest management and organic agriculture.
